What is DEEKSHAANT ?
Deekshaant is an effort to help financially unprivileged bright students complete their education and become professionally sound. In this project education of students above the age of 14 years will be financed till the completion of their education and the project will be monitored constantly by YES to ensure that the benefit reaches out to the students even after the sanction of scholarship. YES will be keeping a check over students performance in the school and if any of the students gets less than 55% marks in the half yearly examination, extra attention will be given by way of coaching, so that their performance in the annual examination improves. If performance of any student in the annual examination is unsatisfactory the continuance of scholarship will be reconsidered accordingly. Concept:
Deekshaant being the heart of YES is yet another milestone aimed at producing at least one professional from each house.

Why Deekshaant:
Due to poor financial health some of the students can not realize their dreams in life and are forced to leave the studies, deekshaant is a medium through which underprivileged students are going to be selected by a procedure ensuring that the deserving and the most needful students get the benefit of the program.
According to the survey of Assessment Survey Evaluation Research (ASER) about School Enrolment and out of the school children in Himachal Pradesh in 2008, the percentage of children out of the school above the age of 14 years is 5% of the sample of ASER. Also if we see the pattern of class wise distribution of children from 2006 till 2008 we observe that every year student drop out ratio is increasing after VIII Std. In 2006, there were 12% children in VIII Std which is reduced to 10% in 2007-08. In Std X there were 8% children in 2006 reduced to 7% in 2007-08. Further in XII Std there were only 2 % children in 2008 out of the ASER Sample.

Free Coaching Classes:
Along with scholarships, we also provide Free Coaching classes to students so as to cover more students Under Deekshant. It is an effort to provide helping classes to students where they can discuss their problems. These classes are taken on weekends. Along with this Free coaching for the competitive exams are also taken up since 2008 and we are happy to share success of many students in different streams.
